This elegant Western-inspired shirt features a delicate white polka dot print for occasions where you need something a little more elevated. Made from 75% Cotton and 25% Lyocell Seacell. this is a light, breathable and very comfortable layer.
The cuffs and neckline fasten with vintage style, metal press studs and can be worn with our Burnt Orange Western bow tie. This shirt was made in a closed-loop process, so no harmful chemicals are discharged. Lyocell Seacell is also made from seaweed and wood making this an environmentally-friendly addition to your wardrobe.
Origins: The shirt is the result of a cultural mix: inspired by the traditional Mexican shirts worn by the vaqueros (made of silk or very light cotton) and the combat shirts worn by the Confederate soldiers during the American Civil War. From a richly decorated ceremonial garment, the western shirt becomes real workwear; robust, simple and cheap.
The 1940s-50s became known as the Golden Age of Western shirts and was the turning point from a working garment to a fashion statement made popular by the influx of new cowboy and western movies.
